Southern Grace Farm offers a variety of boarding care for your special equine friend. SGF offers four different boarding plans to fit different budgets. Private Care – Private Care boarding includes a private pasture with electric fence containment, stall, and grain 2 times per day, hay and water. Your equine friend will have daily turn out and receive a daily brushing and inspection by a well trained horseman. Wormer is administered every 8 weeks. Private Care boarding is available for a fee of $500.00 per month. Full Care – Full care boarding includes a semi-private pasture, electric fence containment, and stall, grain 2 times per day, hay and water. Your special equine friend will be brushed each day and inspected for any abnormalities. Wormer is given every 8 weeks. Full care boarding is available for a fee of $400.00 per month. Partial Care – Partial care boarding includes common pasture with electric fence containment, grain 1 time per day, hay and water. Partial Care boarding is available for a fee of $250.00/month. Field Care – Field Care boarding includes common pasture with electric fence containment, water and hay. Field Care is available for a fee of $150.00/month. NOTE: During the early spring SGF has observed a rapid weight loss in the equine herd. To off-set the weight reduction SGF feeds grain and beet pulp until the pasture establishes. During the February to June time frame Field Care boarding customers will be required to pay the Partial Care fees. SGF is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but the health and well being of your equine is our primary concern. Veterinarian Services – Veterinarian Services are provided to SGF by Tidewater Veterinarian Services. Should veterinarian services be required for your equine friend, you will be responsible for all costs incurred. You have the right to request your own veterinarian and SGF will use the veterinarian service you have listed on file in the SGF office. However, if no veterinarian is listed, Tidewater Veterinarian Services will be called. Once again, you will be responsible for all costs incurred. Ferrier Services – Southern Grace Farm uses our local Amish Ferrier, Rufus Hostetler. Rufus has over 20 years experience and has a natural way with the equine. Even some of the troublesome horses seem relaxed with Rufus. SGF utilizes the Ferrier service every eight weeks. You are responsible for the costs of trimming or shoeing of your horse. Feed and Hay – Southern Grace Farm buys feed from Stoltzfus Farm and Feed Supply in Mechanicsville, Maryland. We feed a 10/10 sweet feed mixed with beet pulp. Our Hay supplier is Robbie Abell of Southern Comfort Farm in Pisgah, Maryland. Robbie delivers round bales of orchard grass, timothy and alfalfa hay mix to SGF. For our Private Care boarders we offer daily square bales of premium quality hay. |
